A Brief History
Formed as a group of ladies who just enjoyed playing football informally, we became Kirkland Ladies FC and joined the 3rd Division of the Scottish Womens’ Football League in season 2000/2001. After a strong finish to the 2001/2 league season and reaching the semi-final of the League Challenge trophy, we became formally associated with East Fife FC and, from June 2002, became East Fife Ladies FC, playing in the famous black & gold colours.
A successful season led to promotion to the 2nd division for 2003/4 and a high profile visit by Manchester United Ladies FC for a friendly to celebrate the Centenary of East fife in May of 2003. The success was unfortunately not maintained and poor performances in the later part of the season and league restructuring resulted in the club playing 2004/5 in the 3rd division East which covers all of the East of Scotland from about Peterhead to Edinburgh and Stirling.
The present squad contains a good blend of experience and young talented players who are making a strong challenge for the league title.
Our current plans include the establishment of a development squad, initially for under 17 age group, followed in the future by under 15.
Home games are played at King George V Park, Leven, normally on Sundays with kick off at 2.00 p.m.
Back Row: Emma Atherton, Monnica Johnson, Amanda Tullis, Kirsty Reilly, Emily Kemp, Nikki Curran, Linsey Grieve
Front Row: Laura English, Laura Peden, Linda Stewart, June Wiseman, Sarah McKenna, Kayleigh Irvine, Siobhan McLaughlin
